Hey folks, here’s this week’s Ep review of Translocution. This week’s installment is called “Solace”, but there wasn’t any to be found for our main characters.

Things opened up with the long awaited meeting between Jake and Kelsie. Kelsie was still in possession of the stolen blueprints, and Jake pressed her for their whereabouts. Kelsie wasn’t giving anything up, especially with Jake’s imminent departure for the Omicron system. Things got heated, and Jake threatened to get the plans at any cost. We know from last season that Jake won’t hesitate to use the mind-control parasites he found, so I think this is heading in an awesome direction, for Jake at least.

Meanwhile, Amy and Akkor are on the run from the forces of the Viet Cong. As they wind their way through the distant asteroid fields, trying to get in contact with “The Condor”, they begin to succumb to the close quarters, and begin to fall for one another. Just when things start getting close to “point of no returnsville”, Akkor gets a conwire message from Dreela, telling him she is about to enter the Halls of Vengeance to undergo the Trials. This shakes Akkor, and he resolves to return to Dreela as soon as he can. As he finishes saying this, the ship is rocked by an explosion. The Cong have found the shuttle, and all bets are off!!!

Rick, Carl, Lori, and the others remain at the farm, arguing.

Pixie has arrived at the court of the High Omnibus, and has requested a meeting with Lord Drix, who refuses to see her. Pixie won’t take no for an answer, and pulls her sword on the messenger, who brings her to Drix. We don’t get to see too much more, but I have a feeling that only one of them is walking out of this alive, especially considering Pixie’s past. Wow, who would have thought that the sweet, innocent little Pixie we met back in Season 2 would have turned into this driven, hardened hellion bent on revenge?

Still hanging over our heads is the question of who will take over the mantle of the Originator. Jake seems the obvious choice, but Translocution is NOT about the obvious. Seems too easy. I can see the writers setting us up for that, and BAM! A last minute switch, giving us someone like Lars, or even Runcible.

Some comments from RRT (Ed’s note: It seems RRT is still writing for The Correctness in 2022…)

I’m concerned that the promises made by the producers about the farm are not going to be fulfilled. As early as season 1, Pixie was working on crossbreeding corn with goats, , to make cheap and reliable “coats”.  Since the Viet Cong 2.0 are so frequently shirtless, it only makes sense that they would be after coats. Pay this off. I don’t want another Matrix 4. If you make promises to the audience, you have to fulfill them. Ever since JJ Abrams was sacrificed on the Mayan altar in 2012 for “crimes against narrative”, we should be seeing better work. Frozen donkey wheel my ass. Why was the smokey black thing time travelling? That’s straighter than a straight country and western club in Texas. STRAIGHT! It’s so straight I don’t even want to talk about it.. Get back to the farm. WE KNOW there is SOMETHING in the cellar, we KNOW it has something to do with the crashed jetpack, and we KNOW that Jamox and Veela need to stop being such a bunch of straightlords and start dealing with their father’s will.

If Amy and Akkor have sex, Translocution will have officially jumped the Ross and Rachel. I mean it. That’s some BS. As the only unmarried member of The Correctness ( Ed’s note: Still!), I can’t believe that Amy’s character would be pining after a man whose inter-dimensional spirit presence is entwined WITH A QUANTUM DEVICE to someone else. Didn’t the writers want Amy to seem smarter than that? Disappointing.
