It's just that in the case of "Social Studies" in high school, it kind of works because it's a small sample tray of history, classics, anthropology etc. Put "Social" in front of something as specific as Science, which cannot abide generalities of any kind, and the whole thing kind of falls apart. Also I like children in hats. That's specific, not general. Anything with the word “Social” in front of it is going to paint with fairly broad strokes. In my opinion, human beings are not quantifiable. The potential variables are probably in the millions; just too many to examine all possible relationships between them. You can't control for anything when there are so many things to consider on the whole. So yeah. Yay science. Boo social science. For the record, I am a blue hat.
