In Defence of Violence in Video Games

There’s been a lot of talk in the media about the negative impacts of video games. How they cause violent behavior, make people more likely to snap and start executing those around them.
We at The Correctness present this reminder of the importance of playing video games. For without them, our world would have been destroyed long ago.

Do you know how much Defender I played in the 80′s? Did anyone show up at my door and say “Hey here’s a ship that looks like a viper from Battlestar Galactica, have at er?” I assure you they did not.

Dear the correctness,
I’ve just finished playing that airport massacre level of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that everyone has their balls in a knot about.
Now that I’ve been desensitized to airport massacre violence, I was wondering if you had any contacts with Russian terrorist groups that might be able to leverage my new skillset. I sure would like to buy a new set of dinnerware this Christmas with terrorist blood money.
Your pal,
Cam

I agree with you. It is good to be prepared. You never know when aliens will pick a random kid to save the world.
On a side note, all my years of hitting the high levels in Tetris has now made me the go to expert on how to pack the car for road trips and how to get furniture in my house when moving!
